Line-up & Takeoff

FlightStrips allow multiple strips to occupy the departure bays at once, but only a single aircraft may have runway clearance to take off at any one time.

To line an aircraft up for departure, move its strip into the RWY DEP bay.
You can drag the strip into the bay. This places the aircraft in a “line up and wait” state.

Multiple aircraft may occupy the departure bay concurrently.
Best practice: set the strip’s holding point so other controllers can see the intended release point and spacing.

Give takeoff clearance by clicking the runway cell (runway designator) on the target strip.

Runway clearance uses colour to show state:

  • Green — runway cleared and confirmed by the controller.
  • Red — multiple aircraft has recived landing clerance, confirm on the scope and visually.
